Hello everyone, I am currently planning a reorganization of my kitchen using the IKEA Metod system and want to maximize storage efficiency, especially focusing on internal organizers. I am particularly interested in strategies to achieve the best overview and space utilization without making everything look cluttered or having to rummage around constantly. Which types of internal organizers—such as drawer inserts, dividers, or special inserts for cutlery and pots—work best in practice? Are there any tips for combining different inserts to use the space more intelligently? I look forward to your shared experiences!

Hey viniciusba, good question! I built my Metod kitchen using a combination of versatile interior fittings. I usually mix standard drawer organizers for cutlery with adjustable dividers for pots and pans. I think it’s important not to fill everything right up to the edges but to leave easily accessible gaps in between. This way, the kitchen never feels cluttered, and everything is easy to find. If you want, I can share some specific examples later. Sometimes it’s the small details that make all the difference!

I really like how you’re approaching this topic, viniciusba. At first, I also felt a bit overwhelmed with all the options for interior organizers in my Metod kitchen. What helped me was not just thinking of space as “more space = better,” but also considering how often I use certain items. The things I use most frequently go into easily accessible organizers that I can grab quickly. This prioritization has worked really well for me.

Cutlery trays and small dividers for drawers. Leave open spaces in between. It is best to store pots standing upright, not lying down.

I’m happy to give you a brief overview, viniciusba. IKEA Metod offers several proven interior inserts that work well in practice: - Cutlery inserts: Ideally, use adjustable dividers so you can customize the storage space. - Pot and pan holders: Inserts with side dividers are suitable here to store pots upright, making better use of the height. - Pull-out baskets: Perfect for pantry containers as they provide clear visibility. - Drawers with compartments for kitchen utensils or baking trays. A common mistake is overfilling drawers without separating areas. My advice: plan each section so that items don’t slide into each other. Also, measure the inserts carefully to avoid anything being pressed or squeezed. In summary: a flexible, modular insert system with attention to frequency of use and clear separation delivers the best results.

Oh yes, I’m really impressed with the Metod interior fittings! I started with the cutlery dividers and then organized the large drawers using this flexible system of compartments. It makes working in the kitchen so much easier! It’s just great when everything has its own place and you don’t have to search around anymore. My tip: definitely use the corner cabinets with the perfectly fitting rotating carousel, combined with drawer inserts below. You can fit a lot in there, and you won’t be staring into a messy, chaotic cabinet all the time.
