Hello IKEA fans,

I’m currently redesigning my bathroom and have chosen the IKEA Godmorgon series. I’m in the process of assembling the furniture, and overall it’s going quite well. However, one step in assembling the GODMORGON vanity cabinet with 2 drawers is causing me some frustration, specifically this one:

White, modern wall cabinet with two handleless drawers.

Assembly: Attach two screws to the side panel; do not use a drill or power tool.

So, I’m supposed to screw the rail on the side to the bottom of the drawer. The drawer side has the appropriate hole for this, but there is no hole anywhere on the entire drawer bottom, so I can’t insert the screw. Since the instructions say not to use a drill, I can’t make a hole myself either. I’m stuck …

Has anyone assembled this vanity cabinet before and can help me?

Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
zoidberg

Pre-drilling is never mentioned in the IKEA instructions. Wood screws are always screwed directly into the wood. However, pre-drilling with a thin drill bit is generally recommended. The image means less that you shouldn’t drill, but that the screw should not be driven in with a cordless screwdriver to avoid over-tightening.

Oh, thank you very much!

I applied a bit more force earlier, and it worked. I’m almost a little embarrassed now oops: .

Thanks
