ᐅ How to Secure an Ikea Shelf for a Built-In Microwave?

I have a Metod kitchen with a tall cabinet designed to hold a built-in oven and a built-in microwave (both not IKEA).

For the oven, I received a shelf that is mounted and screwed into the tall cabinet using metal support rails.

For the microwave, I only got a regular shelf that is placed in the tall cabinet on three dowels on each side instead of rails. The microwave is not as heavy as the oven, but this seems a bit insufficient to me.

However, I seem to remember that I received two solid metal rails from IKEA as well, but I can’t quite recall in the chaos of moving and assembling, and I can’t find them right now. Maybe I’m confusing this.

So, does anyone know how the shelf for a built-in microwave is ideally secured in a METOD tall cabinet? Rails or just dowels on both sides?

I hadn’t thought to check the instructions for the IKEA microwave... And it turns out I actually got the base with the plastic reinforcements for the pins — so the microwave will go on that after all.

All the shelves are ventilated as well, so the IKEA setup works here too, once you’ve sorted everything out... 😀
