Hello everyone,

I would like to ask a specific question here in the forum that has probably crossed the minds of many Pax wardrobe owners: What is the most effective way to increase the stability of Pax wardrobes?

My concern is that when setting up, I noticed that the wardrobes in my home tend to wobble slightly or are not completely stable when loaded with clothes, boxes, and other items. Especially for tall units or under strain, for example when removing heavy objects, it is important for me to know how to improve stability without making major modifications or having to buy completely new furniture.

What proven methods, tips, or tricks do you know to enhance stability? Are special accessories, wall anchors, or floor fixings recommended? And above all: What specific experiences have you had with Pax wardrobes?

I look forward to your insights and suggestions!

For the stability of Pax wardrobes, I always recommend securing them firmly to the wall. The included wall anchors are important. Additionally, you can place small wooden wedges or felt pads under the bottom of the wardrobe to compensate for uneven floors.

An additional tip: If the floor is uneven, a base plate or a sturdy board placed under the Pax can help. This way, the weight is distributed more evenly, and the cabinet stands more securely.

Hello deandre65,

You asked about a permanent and simple method to improve the stability of Pax wardrobe solutions. Fundamentally, everything starts with proper installation.

1. Wall Fixing: Most models come with wall mounting hardware. It is essential to install this correctly and at the appropriate distance from the wall to prevent the wardrobe from tipping. Make sure the type of wall anchor matches the wall material (concrete, drywall, etc.).

2. Floor Leveling: An often underestimated factor is the condition of the floor. Tiles, hardwood, or old floorboards can be uneven – small leveling wedges or self-adhesive pads under the wardrobe feet can help here.

3. Distribute Internal Weight: Heavy items should be placed as low as possible, with lighter ones on top. This lowers the center of gravity of the wardrobe.

4. Reinforcements: There are additional connectors or stiffening elements available as accessories, which can be installed inside to prevent wobbling.

Could you provide more details about the loads your wardrobe needs to support and how it is currently positioned? The room size and condition would also be helpful.

In addition to paulus's tips: When in doubt, use metal brackets inside the cabinet corners for increased stability. This significantly improves torsional rigidity with little effort.

I want to emphasize this. It is extremely helpful, especially for tall cabinets. This is particularly important for stability on older floors. Using anti-slip mats on the cabinet floor can also prevent heavy boxes from sliding.
