LebeloHello everyone, I have just planned an Ikea Metod kitchen and I’m facing a challenge: how can I attach the cabinet fronts so that no visible screws are seen on the front? I want to keep the look as clean and high-end as possible, without holes or screw heads affecting the appearance of the fronts. I’ve done some research and know there are different methods and materials, but I’d like to specifically learn which techniques or fittings have proven effective for securely and attractively mounting Metod fronts without visible screws. I would be very grateful for helpful tips, material recommendations, or shared experiences!

The best stability and load-bearing capacity is achieved with the original Ikea fitting system, which offers concealed fasteners suitable for almost all standard Metod fronts. These are screwed inside the carcass and connect the front and carcass without drilling into the front.
When using adhesive, it is especially important to consider the load capacity and surface compatibility – not every front is suitable for glued connections.

Currently, I’m leaning towards using concealed mounting brackets because I think the movement and stress on the fronts when opening are important factors. Does anyone have experience with whether the Ikea Metod hooks really hold up over time, or would a combination of fixing and gluing be more reliable? Also, how are the tolerances when aligning the fronts if you don’t use visible screws for fine adjustment?
The Metod brackets are quite reliable and have been tested for long-term use. It is important to tighten the screws on the inside firmly without damaging the material.
Regarding alignment, these fittings actually offer adjustment options in height and depth. You can fine-tune the fronts with millimeter precision without visible screws on the outside.
Combining them with mounting adhesive might be useful if the fronts are very thin or made of sensitive materials, but usually, the mechanical hold is sufficient.
Just make sure to choose the correct brackets that match the thickness of the front.

Are there any additional experiences regarding how to best handle the handles when using concealed fastenings – does that affect anything about the mounting? Some fronts have integrated handles, while others need the handles to be attached separately.
And one more question: How about removing the fronts later on? Is it easy to do with these fastenings without damaging the fronts?
