Hello, I need some help. We installed recessed lights in our drywall ceiling. To protect against heat damage, we mounted spacers behind the lamps. Now my problem is this: directly behind one hole there is a thick wooden beam measuring about 50cm by 50cm (20 inches by 20 inches). Unfortunately, we had to cut a hole into the beam; otherwise, the lamp wouldn’t fit. There is no space for a spacer. Can I line the cut-out hole with something to provide heat protection? If so, with what? Heat-resistant paint used for stoves? Titanium heat-resistant tape or just simple aluminum tape? Maybe someone has some advice.

Try this:

that might be possible. However, the LED most likely will not last long in such a location. Why not?Similar topics
