ᐅ Heat Protection for Recessed Lighting

Hello, I need some help. We installed recessed lights in our drywall ceiling. To protect against heat damage, we mounted spacers behind the lamps. Now my problem is this: directly behind one hole there is a thick wooden beam measuring about 50cm by 50cm (20 inches by 20 inches). Unfortunately, we had to cut a hole into the beam; otherwise, the lamp wouldn’t fit. There is no space for a spacer. Can I line the cut-out hole with something to provide heat protection? If so, with what? Heat-resistant paint used for stoves? Titanium heat-resistant tape or just simple aluminum tape? Maybe someone has some advice.

Try this:

Kaiser 9464-01 Device Junction Box HWD 90 Fire Protection Box
that might be possible. However, the LED will most likely not last long in such a location.

Why not?

What does the LED manufacturer say about the required air space above the LED? This is usually stated in the datasheet.

Due to heat damage. LEDs are significantly more sensitive to this than, for example, halogen lamps.
