Hello everyone,
we are looking for a good door manufacturer. Unfortunately, our general contractor can only offer us wooden doors, but we would prefer not to have wood. We are considering an aluminum front door.
Which manufacturers are your doors from? And what did they roughly cost?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
let’s put it this way: even with the door manufacturer, you don’t really know what components they use… and our future neighbors have a door with a fingerprint scanner (I think even from Hörmann), and according to them, they have to re-register fingerprints quite regularly, plus it doesn’t work well in winter with freezing cold hands.
Regarding security… sure, there might be secure systems out there. But it still concerns me that such systems are currently completely prohibited in security-critical areas like airports… where we still use traditional cylinder locks for access control. So far, no one has been able to break those with bolt cutters here, especially considering that not long ago, even our own staff managed to bypass them. That was admittedly three years ago, so things may have changed since then.
Best regards,
Andreas

That was also the impression we got from the Biffar door we looked at.
May I ask what you paid for the door @Curly? Maybe include the dimensions so it’s easier to estimate.
Today I also heard about Klauke aluminum doors. I don’t have a clear idea of the quality of Weru yet.
Has anyone had experience with either of these manufacturers?
Good luck

Biffar really lives up to its price in terms of quality.
We have now received a very interesting offer for an RC2 door from Weru. Unfortunately, I could find little information about the quality of Weru front doors. Therefore, I wanted to ask here if anyone could share their experiences with Weru?
Best regards
