ᐅ Dishwashers and BEHJÄLPLIG – Request for Clarification

Hello everyone,

I have just assembled an IKEA Metod kitchen. Everything is going well so far, except the dishwasher is still missing. The IKEA advisor told me this might be tricky because I want to use a Siemens or Bosch dishwasher.

So, I bought the BEHJÄLPLIG to attach the front panel later.

I see many posts in this forum about the "challenges" of mounting it. Sometimes it’s said to work, sometimes not. How could we clarify this?

I would like to buy a Bosch SMV68M80EU dishwasher. Is it compatible with the BEHJÄLPLIG? Does anyone have experience with this? To maybe make it easier for others in the future to decide without hours of research, are there any rules for the "successful" installation of a third-party dishwasher?

Hello,
the recommendation is to use BEHJÄLPLIG only if you already have a dishwasher. Otherwise, choose an 86.5 cm (34 inches) high XXL model with a Vario hinge from Siemens / Bosch / Neff, to which the front panel can be directly attached. Alternatively, a dishwasher from Miele is suitable, which allows for 800 mm (31.5 inches) high fronts.

For clarification: What disadvantages do I have with BEHJÄLPLIG?

Is it better to cancel everything and order a different dishwasher without BEHJÄLPLIG?

The more moving parts you have, the easier it is for something to break. Whether you will be able to get replacement parts for BEHJÄLPLIG in the long run is uncertain. Assembly is also more complicated.

I would change the order and return BEHJÄLPLIG.

An XXL dishwasher doesn’t automatically mean it will fit. The base cabinet dimension is also crucial.
