Hi,

we want to upgrade our Pax wardrobe (236 x 200 cm [93 x 79 inches]) with custom sliding doors, as it currently has no doors. 😉
Nowadays, the sliding door frames can be purchased separately, and since we don’t like the existing panels or they don’t fit our room design, we plan to insert MDF boards into the frames and wallpaper them. However, I need the exact measurements of the door panels that fit into the aluminum frames so I can have the boards cut at the hardware store. IKEA wasn’t able to help; they suspect a thickness of 4 mm (0.16 inches), but they don’t know the exact height and width of the panels.
Since the wardrobe is already assembled, I can’t measure them at IKEA before buying. Buying four panels to take home, measure, and then possibly return them seems very inconvenient. So, would anyone be able to measure the panels precisely before assembly and share the dimensions with me here? I would really appreciate your help.

Additionally, we want to repaint the aluminum frame in a different color. However, all hardware stores advised against this due to material and durability issues. Now, I’m considering having the frame powder-coated at a paint shop. Has anyone tried something similar and can share their experience?

Finally, we also want to create an overhead cabinet from a cut and reoriented 75 cm (29.5 inches) Pax carcass with Gnosjö kitchen doors. Because of the cutting, we need matching edge banding for the black-brown Pax. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a suitable one at any hardware store yet. Could you perhaps give us some advice on what would work best?

Many thanks in advance.
