Hello everyone, I am currently planning a wardrobe and have been looking more closely at the Ikea PAX systems. I noticed that there seem to be wardrobe models with both sliding doors and hinged doors. My specific question is: Are there actually PAX wardrobe variants from Ikea that can be configured with either sliding doors or hinged doors? Or are these door types always strictly separate within the PAX system, meaning you have to choose either sliding doors or hinged doors? I would really appreciate it if someone with experience or detailed knowledge could provide some insight, including any differences regarding installation, handling, or potential limitations of the door types. Thanks in advance!

What about the visual effect? Does anyone have experience with combining sliding doors and hinged doors side by side, or does it affect the overall aesthetics? Hey, that really comes down to personal taste, but I think the mix actually makes things interesting and gives your space a unique character. Of course, it depends on the door designs and whether their colors and finishes complement each other. For example, pairing matte white hinged doors with matching white sliding doors creates a modern look. You can also add stylish accents by using slightly different finishes, which keeps it visually appealing without feeling chaotic.
Thank you all for your helpful contributions! I now have a much clearer understanding that Ikea Pax wardrobes actually offer both sliding doors and hinged doors, although unfortunately these cannot be combined on the same wardrobe, but can be on individual modules. The tips on assembly, maintenance, and aesthetic combination options are also very valuable. This will help me better tailor my planning to the space and my intended use. If anyone has further insights on specific sliding door models or advice on installation, I would still appreciate hearing your thoughts.
