ᐅ Problematic Combination of IKEA PAX Wardrobe and Striberg Light Strip

RaideRHello everyone,
I was at IKEA on Friday and saw a wonderful Pax wardrobe (the kind with sliding doors). When you opened one side’s sliding door, the light inside the wardrobe turned on automatically. It was the same with the other sliding door.
There was also a note attached to the wardrobe explaining everything you need for this, including 2 Striberg light strips.
So I did just that: I bought the wardrobe and the necessary accessories and assembled them over the weekend. Things went pretty well.
The left Striberg light strip works perfectly. When you slide open the left wardrobe door, the light turns on automatically.
The right Striberg light strip does not work as intended. When set to “AUTO,” it simply stays on all the time (even when the door is closed).
The left Striberg strip is connected (via the transformer(?)) directly to the outlet. The two transformers are connected by an Ansluta cable.
Can anyone explain why the right Striberg strip stays on constantly and never turns off? Any tips are very welcome. I appreciate any advice.
Best regards

IKEA-Experte5 Nov 2014 17:09There is a thread somewhere here on this topic; I believe the light fixture was still called Komplement back then.
Hey,
Thanks for the tip about the name. However, it hasn’t helped me achieve the desired result yet – you probably meant this thread, right?
https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/lichtleiste-komplement-fuer-ikea-pax-schrank.19130/
So, I experimented a bit today – I suspect first of all that these are not light sensors, but distance sensors.
Then I only connected the apparently defective light strip once (leaving out the other one) – but it still doesn’t work. The light just stays on all the time :-/. So it can’t be related to the wiring either.
The annoying thing is: I can’t get the defective Striberg strip out of its holder anymore – does anyone have a tip for that?
Does anyone else have any advice?

To determine if it is a light sensor... make the room completely dark and then shine a flashlight on the (working) sensor. If the light turns on, it is a light sensor (not a proximity sensor or motion sensor). What kind of sliding doors do you have? It’s possible that too much light is still reaching the sensor through the door. Repositioning the fixture to cast the sensor in the "shade" might help.
