Hello!
For our walk-in closet, we need two wardrobes. We took a look at Nolte Attraction at Höffner and liked it quite a bit. However, it only comes in widths of 270 or 300cm (106 or 118 inches), and with our wall measuring 291cm (115 inches), neither option fits at all.
So, we thought it might make more sense to consider custom-made furniture right away. After all, you want to have something for decades, and it should probably fit seamlessly. The room height is also important—who wants a dust trap area above the wardrobe? (On the other hand, especially for sliding door wardrobes, there needs to be some space left at the top for the doors to be installed properly.)
What do you think about a ceiling-high wardrobe solution?
Does anyone know of any providers for custom-made furniture who deliver reliable, high-quality work and stick to delivery schedules? Even with a custom solution, we want to have the same quality as offered by brands like Nolte or Staud.
Here is our walk-in closet.

Room height is 2.565 meters (8 feet 5 inches).

How much space is there between the left and right walls? Specifically, how much room will remain between two cabinets that are each 65-70 cm (26-28 inches) deep?
I’m asking because we had also planned for two walls of cabinets, but luckily only started with one side at first. After a few months of living with it, the second side will no longer reach the ceiling, so the overall feeling will be more open.

From what I can see in the picture, the left wall is shorter than the right one, and a door frame will also be installed. Surely the wardrobe on the window side won’t be pushed all the way against the wall, since there’s probably a 2cm (1 inch) baseboard on the floor. It also looks a bit odd if the wardrobe extends right up to the door frame or passage. I would go for the 2.75m (9 ft) Pax wardrobe. We have now installed over 12m (39 ft) of Pax wardrobes here and are really happy with them; you can arrange them however you like.
Best regards
Sabine

I would also go for the 275 cm (109 inches) Pax wardrobe, positioned as far down on the plan as possible. At the distance that remains between the wardrobe and the wall at the top of the plan, I’d add one or two hooks on the wardrobe wall. This way, you can hang something like the morning T-shirt that you might wear again the next day in the niche, and then get dressed in the afternoon, or have a spot for the bathrobe or to hang a few bags, etc.
And at the bottom of the plan, I would probably choose the sliding door, so you can set up the Pax wardrobes without doors.

Nolte offers the suitable grid system.

Available for a reasonable price at any XXXL store.
I think the height was 250cm (98 inches).
I paid about 850 euros for a 6-meter (20 feet) wardrobe without drawers.
It's better to buy the shelves individually, it also saves money.

grinchmaster30 Jul 2018 13:01We had the cabinets in our walk-in closet custom-made by a carpenter. Fully equipped with doors, drawers, shelves, and clothes rails, the price was roughly the same as the PAX carcasses with the cheapest doors – but without any internal fittings. Due to the room size, using the PAX system would have only allowed us to install two opposing wardrobe walls, leaving the end wall empty. So, significantly less storage space.
