Hello everyone, I recently looked into the IKEA PLATSA series and I’m wondering if it’s possible to equip these furniture units with integrated handle strips? I noticed that many IKEA kitchen and furniture series offer handle strips as a practical and stylish solution, but the PLATSA models didn’t seem very clear in this regard. I would like to know if there are official PLATSA units with built-in handle strips or at least a compatible option from IKEA to retrofit them. If not, it would also be interesting to hear if other users here have experience with alternative solutions. Thanks for your detailed answers!
If anyone is interested in a step-by-step guide on how to securely install aluminum handle strips on Platsa fronts, I’d be happy to put something together. Important points are:
- Preparation: check the material (thickness, hardness)
- Measure drilling points accurately and use a pilot drill bit
- Adjust screw size according to front thickness
- Optional: use mounting adhesive for additional fixation
These tips can help avoid common issues like chipping or loose strips.
Just let me know if needed!

A guide like that would be very helpful for me and surely for others here as well. I don’t want to rush anything, so a clear and careful instruction to avoid damage would be much appreciated.
