Hello everyone,
I am currently planning to buy some IKEA Platsa furniture, mainly cabinets with drawers. One thing that interests me a lot and also makes me a bit uncertain is the stability of the existing drawer slides.
I would specifically like to know: Are there drawer slides for IKEA Platsa furniture that are considered particularly sturdy? Or are the standard slides rather less durable and prone to wear?
I am especially looking for experiences or recommendations from people who have used Platsa drawers over a longer period in everyday life, especially with heavier contents such as books or dishes.
Any experiences, tips for reinforcement, or alternative solutions would also be very welcome.
Thanks in advance!

Maximum approximately 20 kg per drawer is realisticThis matches my experience with kitchen drawers. I wouldn’t recommend exceeding that either.
If someone needs something much more sturdy, Ikea Malm or other series with metal runners are often a more robust option, but Platsa is designed to be somewhat lighter due to its modular system.
Thank you very much for all the helpful responses!
For my project, I now understand that IKEA PLATSA drawer slides are generally sufficient for everyday items but tend to reach their limits with very heavy loads.
I will be careful when loading heavier drawers and might consider reinforcing critical areas.
If anyone can share experience with a specific upgradeable model, I would be very interested.
