Hello everyone,
I am currently planning my new apartment and am particularly interested in the IKEA Platsa furniture series. Since my storage space is very limited, I have the following question: Are there versions or drawer units in the IKEA PLATSA range that feature raised drawers, which would create more storage space?
It is especially important for me to know if there are precise solutions that are not only visually taller but also actually increase storage volume, without having to rely on additional shelves or external storage.
I would really appreciate detailed information, recommendations, or sharing of experiences on this topic!

Unfortunately, there are no drawers that are extra tall.I think this is an important observation.
However, is increasing drawer volume really just a matter of adding more units? Could weaknesses in the depth or the system design be exploited? Just because IKEA does not offer "raised" drawers does not necessarily mean that you can’t create something yourself.
For example, are there materials or accessories that can be used as spacers or extensions? Of course, without officially taller drawers, there is no guarantee that the stability will be adequate.
A precise review of IKEA product data shows that the PLATSA drawers maintain a consistent height, usually 20cm (8 inches) or 30cm (12 inches), as others have already mentioned.
Tall drawers offering more volume are not available in the range. For additional storage space, adding extra modules or combining with shelf inserts is the recommended solution.
If storage space is limited, supplementary containers or boxes inside the drawers can help use the space more efficiently.

A taller front often only changes the appearance; the internal height of the drawer remains the same. This is something to keep in mind when purchasing.Thank you all for your comments, they are very helpful.
lau-mar’s note especially helped me understand the terms better. I initially assumed that taller fronts would also mean more storage space, but your posts have clarified that this is not the case.
I will try to maximize storage capacity by adding extra drawer modules and making practical combinations. If anyone has creative tips on how to better utilize the volume in the existing cabinets, please share!
