Hello everyone,
I am currently planning a new wardrobe and am particularly interested in the Ikea PAX series. I have noticed that integrating lighting inside the wardrobe can play an important role in improving visibility and usability.
My specific question is: Are there any Ikea PAX variants, meaning models or versions, that come factory-equipped or at least as an option with built-in lighting? I am not just looking for simple LED strips that need to be purchased separately and installed but for actual PAX variants that include lighting as a standard feature or where lighting is firmly integrated or directly designed by the manufacturer.
If anyone has experience or recommendations—also tips on how to realistically and easily retrofit lighting if such variants do not exist—I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for your support!

I can confirm the statement: Pax comes without built-in lighting.
I personally use the Ansluta LED strips, which are very easy to install. The adhesive holds well, and the motion sensor works very reliably.
The power supply in my case is provided by a USB power adapter nearby, and the cable can be easily hidden.

Could you maybe explain in more detail how these LED strips or lighting systems from Ikea work in the PAX wardrobe?Sure! The "ANSLUTA" LEDs are really easy to install – they have adhesive strips on the back, and you can also attach them magnetically if you have the metal panel inside the wardrobe.
The big advantage is the motion sensor that turns on as soon as you open the door. Battery-powered versions are even wireless, which is great if you don’t have a power outlet nearby.
Of course, if you want hardwired power, you’ll need a socket or USB cable, but especially for rental apartments, this is a really flexible solution.
So it’s not something that comes pre-installed when you order the wardrobe, but it’s quick and cheap to add later – and it doesn’t require much effort 😊
