Are there alternative baskets for the KALLAX?
I’m looking for baskets for the IKEA KALLAX shelving unit that are not only functional but also offer a different look than the original KALLAX baskets. The IKEA fabric baskets are a bit too plain and not very sturdy in my opinion, so I’m wondering if there are other options, maybe handmade or from other manufacturers, that fit easily into the standard KALLAX compartments.
It’s important to me that the baskets fit the dimensions (approximately 33x33x33 cm (13x13x13 inches) internal measurements) and are sturdy enough for everyday use. If anyone has experience, any links or tips on materials or sources would be very helpful.
Perhaps there are baskets made of wood, metal, or mixed materials? Or maybe a size slightly larger or smaller that still fits?
I welcome any ideas!

I have also noticed that baskets with handles that extend into the shelf compartment can sometimes be inconvenient. This is especially true when the KALLAX shelving unit is quite full or there is limited space around it, making it harder to pull them out.
So, if you choose baskets with handles, make sure the handles are as flat or integrated as possible.
A tip from me: baskets with recessed handles or side ropes are the most practical.

To return to the topic of sustainability:
If you are looking for baskets that, for me, serve more than just a practical purpose, you can also check out secondhand stores or flea markets.
I have found great vintage rattan baskets there that make a real statement and fit perfectly with KALLAX shelves.
This not only saves money but also gives each basket its own story.
Perhaps an idea for those who prefer unique solutions and variety instead of mass-produced goods!
