ᐅ My KALLAX wobbles even though there is felt padding under the legs.

LauemilHello everyone,
I recently assembled a Kallax shelf from IKEA, and despite attaching felt pads under the feet, it still wobbles slightly, especially when bumped. I checked the feet, and they all sit flat on the floor. The felt pads are evenly distributed, yet the wobbling remains. The floor is laminate and perfectly level.
Could it be that the structure itself has some play, or does anyone have tips on how to further reduce the wobbling? Maybe someone has an idea for a more stable solution without having to rebuild the shelf?
Thanks for your advice!

Sometimes these loosen slightlyI can definitely confirm that! Usually, small screws cause more trouble than you might expect. I once had a similar KALLAX unit that only became really stable again after tightening the screws once more. Maybe the supporting frame is just a bit weak.
If the wobbling continues, you could try carefully placing a small piece of foam rubber. It cushions and improves grip on the floor a little bit. 🙂
Oh yes, shelves without a solid base can be really frustrating, but don’t worry! 🙂
A great tip is to thoroughly check the back panel. The KALLAX shelves have a thin hardboard panel as the back, which is important for stability. If it’s not completely secure, the whole shelf can wobble easily.
I simply hammered in small nails to make the back panel tighter. Since then, the shelf has been rock solid!
Good luck with checking it out!

place small wooden or plastic pads under the felt glidesGood idea, I will try that as well. It feels more like a general wobble, not that one corner is too low.
If the shelf is placed on a laminate floor, the smooth surface can increase wobbling. Try replacing the felt pads on the bottom with rubber or cork feet. These provide better grip and prevent slipping.
Additionally, it may help to adjust the feet more precisely, if your KALLAX has adjustable floor protectors.
