I can't really tell you, I can't adjust that on my heat pump.

March was quite pleasant. The peaks in consumption were due to the electric car. But basically, just like at the end of February, we didn’t pay much attention to consumption. The basement was heated for 5 days at the end of the month. This doesn’t seem to show in the graph, but temperatures also went up. In 2 weeks, I will switch off the heating as well.

Household consumption 640 kWh; PV 396, grid 72.1, battery 172 kWh; bar chart of daily values.

Balance dashboard March 2021: consumption, generation, self-consumption, grid feed-in, and self-sufficiency rate.

I’m also quite satisfied: 426 kWh total consumption, 41 kWh drawn from the grid, 947 kWh fed into the grid. Considering that I chose the photovoltaic system based on rather questionable calculations, it’s going pretty well ;-)

This year, the heating season feels like it never ends, which is quite remarkable. Here, the average temperature in April was only 5°C (41°F). The average over recent years is around 9°C (48°F). That’s a significant difference.

The electricity bill is going to be quite harsh this year 😀. Due to electric cars and a heat cabin, we have already had to pay a lot extra for household electricity. It’s definitely time to consider installing photovoltaic panels 🙂.

It looks like our heating season will end in 1-2 days. The average temperature from October until now has been 4.3°C (39.7°F), which I think is quite reasonable. The annual electricity consumption for the heat pump is, as mentioned, about 3000 kWh.

Since January alone, I have blown through 2200 kWh on heating 😀. But it hasn’t felt this cold in about 20 years...
