HausuHello everyone, I have a small problem cleaning my Ikea PAX wardrobes with high-gloss surfaces. Due to daily use, fingerprints, dust, and minor stains quickly accumulate, but I’ve read that aggressive cleaners can damage the surface. My question is: What is the gentlest way to clean Ikea PAX high-gloss surfaces to maintain their shiny appearance while avoiding scratches or dull spots? Are there any recommended cleaning products or home remedies, or special cleaning techniques I should keep in mind? I would prefer not to spend a lot of money but still want to keep the surface well maintained for a long time. Thanks for your advice!

If you have stains, diluted glass cleaner often works well, but please do not spray it directly; apply it to the cloth instead. This helps prevent scratches. If you want to polish the surface, some recommend a special furniture care product for high-gloss finishes, but it should be used sparingly. Also, after cleaning, make sure to wipe dry to avoid water spots.

How much do you dilute the glass cleaner exactly? Is a 1:1 mix with water enough, or should it be diluted less? And what do you think: should stubborn stains be soaked damp (e.g., with a cloth) or just gently rubbed? I also have some roughness from wooden furniture in my hallway and wonder if it’s similar with high-gloss surfaces? I don’t want to risk scratches.
