Hello everyone, I would like to know how you clean and maintain your Pax wardrobes to preserve both the material and functionality in the long term. I’m especially interested in which products you use, how often you clean them, and if there are any specific techniques that work particularly well for the different surfaces and interior fittings. Are there also any tips for cleaning the wardrobe doors, metal fittings, or the tracks? I look forward to your experiences and hope for practical advice that is truly helpful.

I simply use a damp microfiber cloth for most surfaces, sometimes with a little mild soap. For the tracks, I use a dry vacuum cleaner attachment. Nothing more is necessary.

Hello! In general, I would recommend regularly wiping the surfaces with a slightly damp cloth to prevent dirt from settling. For stubborn spots, you can use a mild cleaner, but please avoid harsh chemicals—especially on film surfaces or painted finishes, as these can be damaged.

For cabinet fittings and sliding tracks, I suggest occasionally applying an appropriate lubricant (e.g., silicone oil). This helps prevent squeaking and ensures smoother operation. Also, make sure to clean dust and dirt from the tracks before lubricating—ideally with a vacuum cleaner and a small brush.

If you have doors with glass, a standard glass cleaner will suffice. Of course, always use it gently and avoid abrasive cleaners to prevent scratches.

I hope this helps!

For me, regular dusting and occasional damp wiping are enough. No special products needed. For the tracks: just keep them clean, and they’ll be low-maintenance.

I have some concerns about that. Are you really using silicone oil for this? With certain plastic parts, it can cause stress changes, and oil also attracts dirt. How do you ensure this doesn't lead to long-term damage?

Furthermore, I believe cleaning and maintenance for Pax cabinets are often presented too generally. Depending on the material (wood, foil/vinyl, glass), different cleaning agents are truly necessary, right? I would personally appreciate a more systematic guide that relates to the specific materials. Does anyone have something like that or at least relevant experience?

That’s a good point you bring up. I’m also curious if you maintain your sliding rails and metal fittings differently—perhaps using special metal care products?

Additionally, it would be helpful if someone could briefly explain the differences in care between matte and glossy surfaces. Some people seem to have issues with streaks or scratches on painted doors. What is the best way to avoid this?

Thanks in advance to everyone taking the time to share their knowledge!
