Hello everyone,

we are in the process of building a single-family house with a basement suitable for living. This is the design we have come up with. I would like to hear from you if you see any possibilities for improvements.

On the ground floor, there is a side entrance door on the right. The carport will be located there.

In the basement living area, the children's rooms face south. From there, it should be possible to access the terrace and the garden.

I look forward to your tips and suggestions!

Ground floor plan: open living and dining area, kitchen, bathroom, hallway, and two rooms.

Apartment floor plan: kitchen, living room, hallway, and bedrooms with dimensions.

As mentioned, we have decided on option 2. If anyone has any further suggestions (repositioning the staircase, swapping rooms, or anything else), I’m all ears.

If this has to be the final solution, then I believe everything has been said – but also, as Reich-Ranicki put it, the curtain falls and some questions remain unanswered. If you don’t notice that everyone entering the living room walks right through the picture, then not even collective intelligence can help anymore. But since the architect was trained in this, as you say, OK then, fair enough / sleep well.

I never understand your comments! How can you walk through the picture in that version, or why would you carry laundry through the kitchen? No matter which plan you keep looking at, these issues don’t exist on mine!

Yes, isn’t the washing machine located in the utility room behind the kitchen? Have you now moved it upstairs after all?

Katja, I'm slowly starting not to take this seriously anymore! Where exactly in option 2 is the utility room still next to the kitchen? You criticized that in this option you stumble directly into the kitchen from the hallway and that the door facing the hallway is a safety hazard. As I said, we are talking about different things!

@franky then just attach your current preferred plan again, so we don’t have to keep scrolling and searching, and no one talks past each other
