ᐅ Corners of the new windows are very poorly finished or scratched

Hello,

this week our windows were installed. Unfortunately, all the corners of the windows look quite damaged, as if the corners were dragged across the floor. See the photos.
Since this is the case with all the windows, I assume it is a production issue.

I have already informed my window installer and expect to receive a response on Monday.

For my own "preparation":
1. Is this considered normal and something I would have to accept if necessary?
2. Is there any way to repair this?

I see this very differently. Nothing here is normal. It is also possible that the corners were damaged during installation. It is not common practice for someone to come back and do additional sanding. For example, I have windows laminated on both sides, where that simply wouldn’t work.

From intuition, this doesn't look normal to me either! I have Unilux windows at home myself and can take a closer look at the corners later. At least, I wouldn’t have noticed them looking anything remotely like this.

So? The film comes directly from the extruder then?

I can only say this about your explanations:

You are on the wrong track.

Of course, there are processes that make additional finishing practically unnecessary. However, that makes the window more expensive. Apparently, we are dealing with a low-cost segment here. And in that case, finishing work is necessary.

I don’t know how you came to that conclusion. Judging by the pictures, the corners could also have been damaged during window installation, transportation, or glazing. In any case, after any possible protective film is applied.

To me, it mostly looks like the "seller just sends some random guy for installation" segment. Whatever gets delivered is installed—without checking if it was manufactured flawlessly.

There shouldn’t be any foil; in my opinion, these are Unilux windows with a white lacquered wooden interior surface. I would classify them as mid-range rather than low-budget. Of course, there are higher-quality windows available, but I don’t think Unilux can be considered low-budget. The installation, however, might be more likely to affect that! As I said, I have the same type of windows at home, and I would actually be surprised if the corners looked like that!
