After our first floor plan attempt failed completely, we worked with the architect to develop two more ground floor versions and one for the upper floor. I would like to know which ones you find good or bad, and what you generally like or dislike about the floor plans?! Also, the pantry door is drawn a bit oddly; it won’t actually look like that...

We did that in the last plan. However, different windows were installed due to the lighting conditions. Nothing is allowed to be changed afterward. That has already been rushed. And the larger windows cannot be moved further out. But we only found that out now.

None of this would have happened if you had posted your final design.

Ifs, buts, and maybes. You didn’t. Now this is how it is.

I wonder why you’re sharing the plan here now, when half of the masonry work is already done.

A mason is not stupid. Moving a window a few centimeters to the right or left doesn’t bother them at all. [...] And the roller shutters will move along, obviously.

Were you thinking of your own words here:

I took a close look at the exterior and came to the conclusion: a) a 62.5 cm (25 inches) shift (for the bedroom and kids’ room, each towards the roof edge) should be possible; b) the maintenance hatch of the roller shutter might then directly abut the finished roof soffit at one corner. Therefore, the option

You could also just make the bedroom window narrower.

possibly combined with this, would be “the solution” – I’m thinking about 25 cm (10 inches) narrower.

Which authority states that – the prime minister personally? – Adjustments are always possible. And this is a completely standard one; it certainly won’t be a first for the professionals.

The developer says this: We received the final building plan three weeks ago. According to the developer, no changes were allowed after that point. So submitting it earlier would not have made any difference. Windows and masonry cannot be altered, except for a high additional cost.

Well, but then we can just close everything here now, right...? Seriously, what’s the point of asking about mistakes at this stage? *thinking*

Amen. Where there is a will, there is a way.

Either a cabinet width of max. 270 cm (106 inches) is sufficient, or the builder will have to be bothered once again.
