Hello,
how did you approach lighting design and when exactly did you plan/implement it?
I still have the option to install Halox P housings with transformer tunnel (€60) for LED recessed spots. I’m not really convinced by spots (focused light + high costs), but what alternatives are there?

I agree with your planner on this. If you choose white light, make sure the color temperature is consistent within the same room. If you want to change it dynamically via KNX, that’s fine. The most important thing is that all light sources are adjustable. At the moment, we have 2700 K in the living/dining area. It’s cozy and still sufficient as task lighting in the kitchen. Brightness also plays a big role.
I would say that light bulbs can be replaced, so this is not really a decision but merely a choice.

Of course, it also depends a lot on brightness.jansens schrieb:

If I have a light source with 2700K, how can I then dynamically adjust it?
Dynamic adjustment would only be possible with different fixtures that can each display various color temperatures, or am I mistaken?

I wouldn’t want to have to replace them after a short time just because I don’t like them. I think we will specify 3000K because that’s what we have now and are happy with it. Actually, I wanted to mix and also create scenes with 2700K or even lower for the living room, office, and bedroom. But that gives him the creeps (even though I didn’t understand why).

I meant that it’s not a problem to simply choose 3000 K (Kelvin) now wherever you want it, and otherwise follow his suggestion of 2700 K. On one hand, he probably knows what he’s doing – but you are the ones living there. Light bulb fittings are standardized, so you don’t have to commit to one color temperature forever during installation. So it’s just a preference, not a firm decision.

Light bulb sockets are standardized, so you don’t commit to a specific color temperature permanently during installation. Therefore, it’s just a choice, not a decision. That is no longer entirely true, unfortunately. When you use those fancy LED units with everything built-in, you can only replace the entire fixture...

This should apply just as much to apples as it used to for the pear, otherwise this modern stuff is just junk.
Lighting your home is essential. It must not fail because of a confusing mess like the one created with mobile phone chargers.
Within each category—bulb, halogen, LED—the system must be flexible, otherwise it is a design flaw.
