Hello,
how did you approach lighting design and when exactly did you plan/implement it?
I still have the option to install Halox P housings with transformer tunnel (€60) for LED recessed spots. I’m not really convinced by spots (focused light + high costs), but what alternatives are there?

But one thing you need even less than a lighting plan is a lamp shopping list at the price of a lighting plan What someone needs or doesn’t need is always their own decision!
What’s definitely not needed, however, are weak comments like this one and know-it-alls in general, who think they know better or even want to define who needs what and where someone finds value...
I really wonder what the intention behind posts like this is? It’s fine if someone doesn’t need a lighting plan for themselves. But why add insult to injury and make the original poster feel bad by rubbing in that they only got “an expensive shopping list”? How grumpy can someone be about that?

Who fills out the DWG files for the architect with the lighting specifications? A part-time Ikea salesperson? Do they handle the measurements as well? And who coordinates with the electrician to clarify questions like DALI yes or no?
If someone as a layperson can do all that; respect! I can’t, and I’m not ashamed of it.

Thanks in advance

Foscarini
Model: Bahia Parete
about 450 EUR, polycarbonate
(shown above in #23)
Regarding the planning:
I wouldn’t recommend lighting the stair treads individually from underneath the nosing, especially not with white risers, as the grazing light would likely highlight every imperfection. Better to use simple recessed wall spots in the wall.
Overall, I would also include some wall lights for attractive accent lighting.
