Hello everyone, I am about to assemble the Ikea Brimnes furniture and want to make sure I have all the necessary tools ready before I start. Could you please provide a detailed list of the tools that are absolutely essential for assembling the Brimnes? I’m not looking for general advice, but rather as complete a list as possible so I don’t find out halfway through the assembly that something is missing. If it’s relevant, it would also be helpful to know whether any special Ikea tools are needed or if standard tools from a home toolkit will suffice. Thanks in advance for your help!

Great that you want to clarify this beforehand! For the Ikea Brimnes, you mainly need the following tools: - A Phillips screwdriver (preferably PH2), as most screws are designed for this type. - A hammer for tapping in wooden dowels and possibly folding dowels. - A regular tape measure or folding ruler to help align the parts more accurately. - If available, a cordless drill with the appropriate bits, which speeds up the assembly process a lot! But be careful: the cordless drill should not be too powerful, as it can easily damage the screws. With these tools, you’ll be well equipped—trust me, you’ll enjoy it!

I only use a good Phillips screwdriver and a hammer for the Brimnes. Everything else has always been unnecessary for me.

At a minimum, the following tools are recommended: - A Phillips screwdriver, size PH2, since all screws are designed for this. - A hammer for securing the wooden dowels. - An Allen key (hex key) is often included in the package but will be important for certain connections. - Optional: A small wire cutter can be helpful for trimming plastic sleeves or nails if needed. Ikea usually does not provide its own tools, so it is advisable to have standard tools on hand. A cordless drill is not essential but can significantly ease the work.

Can confirm: a Phillips PH2 screwdriver and a hammer are necessary. A cordless drill is optional, it can also be done by hand. The Allen key is usually included.

Thanks for the initial tips! To clarify: If you recommend cordless screwdrivers, which torque setting would you suggest to avoid damaging the screws on Brimnes furniture? And what do you think about bit sets with a magnetic feature? I'm wondering if that might be helpful.
