Therefore, I have a question for the community: Which tools are particularly suitable for assembling BRIMNES furniture? I am looking for recommendations on tools that make the assembly easier, simplify handling of the individual parts, or help avoid common pitfalls. It would be helpful to know whether having your own tools like a cordless screwdriver or special tools is necessary, or if the tools included in the package are sufficient. Thank you in advance for your tips and experiences!
I can also recommend a small, lightweight cordless screwdriver, especially for the long screws. A handy little helper when using a rubber mallet is a soft cloth – this protects the wood and makes it a bit gentler. Don’t forget to stay in a good mood 😉, that makes screwing more enjoyable!
For efficient assembly of the BRIMNES set, I primarily recommend the following tools:
- Cordless drill with adjustable torque settings
- Phillips screwdriver bit (PH2) compatible with the IKEA screws
- Rubber mallet for inserting wooden dowels
- Spirit level to check alignment
Although a screwdriver is included in the package, a cordless drill is especially helpful for practical reasons, saving both time and effort. The spirit level ensures a clean result, which is particularly important for wardrobes.

For assembling the BRIMNES series, the included tool is basically usable but can become tiring over time. A rubber mallet helps to fit wooden dowels without causing damage. Additionally, I would recommend having a small set of hex keys (Allen wrenches) on hand in case IKEA does not fully cover specific connections.
