Hello Forum,
I am currently working on assembling the IKEA Metod kitchen series and have a question regarding which of the mounting screws are actually made of stainless steel.
Since corrosion resistance is very important in the kitchen, I would like to know whether IKEA uses stainless steel for the Metod mounting screws or if the material is mostly galvanized steel.
I am particularly interested in the screws used in the moist environments near the dishwasher and countertops.
Does anyone have detailed experience or even knowledge about the material composition of the Metod screws?

I would like to point out: If you really want to be on the safe side, you should not only check the screws but also consider the anchors and readjustment of the fittings!
Stainless steel installation is great, but a single screw alone doesn’t make a completely rust-free kitchen – it requires an overall concept!
Fortunately, IKEA Metod is modular, so you can easily upgrade and set rust-free standards. Thumbs up for the flexibility!

Galvanized screws tend to develop unsightly stains there quite quickly.
If you’re willing to invest a bit more, A2 stainless steel screws offer a durable solution, especially if you plan to use the kitchen for many years.
