Hello everyone,
I am currently working on optimizing my Ikea Pax wardrobe system and have encountered a specific issue with the wardrobe doors. Since I highly value a pleasant indoor climate and want to avoid any disturbing noises especially in living and bedrooms, I would like to know: Which Ikea Pax doors close the most quietly?
I have already tried a few different options but am still unsure if there are doors with special damping elements or particular designs that are generally quieter when closing.
It would be great if someone could share their experiences with the different types of doors (e.g., solid doors, mirrored doors, sliding doors, etc.), ideally including information about the closing mechanisms or additional options for noise reduction.
Thanks in advance for your support!

To complement the topic: Pax sliding doors can sometimes operate quite quietly even without soft-close features, provided the sliding mechanism is well maintained and the doors are properly adjusted. The source of noise often comes from the rollers or sliding tracks rather than the door itself.
That is true; however, Ikea has recently started offering sliding door options with buffers and soft-close mechanisms, showing progress in this area.
Therefore, if you prefer sliding doors, it is worth specifically looking for the versions with soft-close functionality.

Sliding doors generally do not have a soft-close function, which is why they tend to be somewhat louder when closing.

So, if you prefer sliding doors, it’s worth paying attention to the versions with soft-close.Exactly, if you choose sliding doors, make sure to get the soft-close ones. Otherwise, they can be noisy.
