Hello everyone,
I am currently focusing on installing IKEA METOD kitchens and am looking for recommended accessories that actually make the assembly easier. My specific question is: Which IKEA METOD accessories have you used yourselves that noticeably simplified your work, whether for assembling base cabinets, fronts, interiors, or wall mounting? I am especially interested in practical aids that are not absolutely necessary but help make the installation process smoother and safer.
I look forward to your tips and maybe also suggestions on tools or additional parts that you found less useful. Thanks in advance!

I would definitely recommend the Metod support panels. They make wall mounting much easier and more stable. Soft-close hinges are also a must, as they significantly simplify the installation of the fronts. Door jambs and plinth legs are also useful because they help stabilize the assembly.
What you often don’t need is the more expensive special tools from IKEA; a simple cordless drill usually suffices.

Hello Gautar48,
Your question about accessories that make assembling the IKEA METOD kitchen easier is very good and important, as small helpers can save a lot of time and frustration. I would like to organize the topic a bit:
- Wall mounting: METOD carrier plates, as mentioned before, are very helpful here. They provide precise and stable mounting points. Make sure to choose the correct size based on the wall structure.
- Hinges: Clip-on hinges with integrated soft-close mechanisms make many assembly steps easier and prevent noise. They are not absolutely necessary, but they significantly increase comfort.
- Assembly brackets: There are special cabinet clamps and assembly brackets that make connecting the base cabinets much easier, as they hold parts in place when working alone.
- Countertop fasteners: Special accessories for secure fixing are worth it here. They prevent the countertop from shifting later and can be installed with simple tools.
- Baseboard fasteners: IKEA’s base feet and clips ensure easy and maintenance-friendly installation—another small but useful aid.
Additionally, I recommend a cordless drill with variable torque control; otherwise, special accessories are sometimes more a matter of convenience.
If you have questions about individual assembly steps, I’m happy to help!

A tip from me: Don’t underestimate the small helpers! Those clips used for kickboards or drawers are really practical and save a lot of time. Installing the fronts also goes much faster when you have the right handles and hinges.
At first, the amount of accessories can feel overwhelming, but once you start, you quickly realize it’s definitely worth it! So don’t hesitate to get the accessories right away and give them a try 🙂 Good luck with your assembly!
