Hello,

I am currently planning the built-in cabinets in the laundry room. This is how they are supposed to look:
Kitchen with washing machine and dryer under countertop, white cabinets, green backsplash

As shown in the picture, the washing machine and dryer, as well as the drawer cabinet and a tall cabinet, are placed in a niche. (Unfortunately, I couldn’t fully represent the actual setup in the IKEA planner: there are plinths under the washing machine and dryer, and the drawer cabinet has taller legs.)

In any case, I am now looking for a suitable container for the tall lower drawer. I want to store detergent there (powder, without the original packaging ^^). For this, I need a tightly sealing container that ideally makes the most of the available drawer space. Do you have any suggestions for an IKEA box that might fit, or should I look elsewhere?

I don’t know of any tall boxes from Ikea, except for these transparent ones in various sizes, which also have lids available.

However, I’m wondering if you only use one powder for everything? I use liquid detergent, and I have at least four different kinds plus Sagrotan as an additive. By the way, the bottles would fit very well in a drawer like that.

I always buy large quantities of powdered detergent for whites from wholesale suppliers. It is then portioned out accordingly. For wool and colored fabrics, I use liquid detergent, which I keep in the top drawer. I don’t use anything else; this is completely sufficient for me.

Have you checked the waste bins for Metod? They fit perfectly, and lids are available too. I’m just not sure if there is one that completely fills the drawer on its own.

Thanks for the tip. Yes, I already looked into that, but there doesn't seem to be a single-container solution—only the ones with two small buckets. Then again, the question is whether the lid seals tightly.

I had hoped to find a clear storage box in the right size at Ikea, but there’s still some time. For now, I’m just installing the tiles.
