Hello everyone, I’m looking for your tips and experiences on transporting an Ikea Pax wardrobe. Specifically, I want to know the best way to properly and smoothly get the wardrobe from Ikea to home. I’m particularly interested in the following points: how to best pack or secure the parts, whether it makes sense to ask the store about transport options, if you use your own vehicle or rely on shipping companies/moving services, and how you handle the size and weight of the parts to ensure everything arrives intact and undamaged. Are there any special techniques or tools that have proven effective? I want to approach this as stress-free as possible and minimize the risk of damage to the parts. I appreciate detailed advice and am grateful for any recommendations!

For transporting the Ikea Pax wardrobe, I recommend the following approach:

- Disassemble into individual parts: Remove all back panels, doors, and shelves. This significantly reduces the weight and makes the parts easier to carry.
- Protect the components: Use moving blankets or bubble wrap, especially for doors and side panels, to prevent scratches and breakage.
- Secure fastening: When storing the parts in the vehicle, ensure stable positioning and secure everything with tension or tie-down straps to prevent shifting.
- Transport vehicle: Small vans are ideal due to their size and flat loading area. Passenger cars are usually unsuitable because the long parts barely fit inside.
- Cooperation with Ikea: Some stores offer delivery services, which can be cost-effective depending on the distance and reduce damage through professional handling.
- Handling: Packing lists and labeling help during reassembly later and minimize the risk of mix-ups.

These steps ensure the safest and most efficient transport possible.

Disassemble the Pax wardrobe and pack all parts separately. Rent a van or cargo vehicle, and secure everything using straps. No simple tips, but this should be enough.

That's true, the disassembly part is really key. I would also add that wrapping the doors in blankets is best; it gave me the stress-relieving advantage of not constantly worrying they’d get scratched or damaged.

Absolutely! I just numbered all the parts with small sticky notes. It saved a lot of time during assembly and spared a lot of nerves.

Also: with a good playlist and a helper, moving the wardrobe almost becomes fun – and don’t worry, the Pax is very durable!
