IKEA-Experte22 Nov 2014 11:26Hello,
I’m not sure if I fully understood your question.
If the drawers are arranged the same way, the height will be the same. One advantage of internal drawers is a more uniform appearance of the front and the ability to position the internal drawers in a finer height grid.
In your sketch, there is a 50 cm (20 inches) and a 30 cm (12 inches) wide cabinet. How do you want to implement that with METOD?

Georg_101122 Nov 2014 11:41Hello Tuxi,
using concealed drawers gives me more flexibility since I can still adjust their height. I hadn’t thought of that, thanks!
I’ll cut the 30cm (12 inches) and 50cm (20 inches) cabinets myself. That’s no problem nowadays. I’ll cut the top and bottom panels to size using a circular saw, reposition the holes for the cabinet connectors, and that’s it. The front panel for the waste pull-out will get an edge band. Since it’s on the far right, the edge band shouldn’t be visually distracting. As the metal strip doesn’t fit, I’ll replace it with wooden strips.

IKEA-Experte22 Nov 2014 11:57The front panel for the waste pull-out will still get an edge band.If it is a smooth front like HÄGGEBY, that’s not a problem. It becomes more complicated to change the width of the pulls for the cabinet, especially due to the drawer back panel.
Since the metal strip obviously doesn’t fit, I am replacing it with wooden battens. It shouldn’t be very difficult to shorten the metal strip.
Have you thought about what you want to use the drawers in the upper cabinets for? The height inside a drawer with a 10 cm (4 inch) high front is quite limited.

IKEA-Experte22 Nov 2014 12:03Wouldn’t it be more practical to leave out the 20cm (8 inches) base cabinet and make a 50cm (20 inches) base cabinet instead of a 30cm (12 inches) one?
That way, you could use wall cabinets with the same widths as the base cabinets, which would create a more balanced and calm appearance.

Georg_101122 Nov 2014 12:22The placement of the stove and sink is mandatory due to the location of the power outlets. Where the number 20 is indicated, there is a double power outlet, as well as above the 30 cm (12 inches) waste bin pull-out. That’s also why there is the 20 cm (8 inches) cabinet to the left of the 80 cm (31.5 inches) cabinet. I cannot shorten it further to the left. If I moved the stove further to the right, I would lose space between the sink and stove. I wanted to have as much space there as possible. The 30 cm (12 inches) cabinet on the right contains the waste system:
, suitable for 30 cm (12 inches) cabinets, and I’m choosing the 10-liter / 20-liter system. I also prefer that it is not located under the sink. On the far right, I still have some countertop space. Personally, I don’t find the layout unbalanced, especially since the fronts will be Veddinge white.
