Hello everyone, I am planning to install Ikea Metod countertops in a kitchen where the walls are partially sloped and some surfaces are inclined—specifically, there are roof slopes and uneven angles. My question is: How can I securely fix Metod countertops on such sloped walls and inclined surfaces to ensure the countertops are stable and have no installation or load-bearing issues? Are there any special fastening materials or installation methods you would recommend for this type of application? Thank you very much for your tips and experiences!

It is best to install the countertops using sturdy angle brackets that are screwed into the wall. The brackets should be adjusted to match the angle of the wall so that the countertop lies flat.

Hello, with sloped walls and inclined surfaces, it is advisable to first determine the precise angles using a digital angle finder or a miter laser. Afterwards, you can cut the countertop at the relevant points to ensure maximum stability of the support. For fastening, it is best to use:

- Angle brackets made of sturdy steel or aluminum, cut to fit the wall angle
- Additional substructures or adjustable mounts to compensate for inclinations
- Screws with appropriate wall anchors depending on the wall material

Make sure that the rails or brackets are adequately sized, especially on inclined surfaces where the load acts not only vertically but also at an angle.

If the wall is angled, you can also use special adjustable wall brackets. These can be precisely adjusted to the slope and provide secure support.

It is important that the Metod countertops have a certain inherent stability due to the material thickness (usually 28 mm (1.1 inches)). For sloping walls, you should either install a sturdy substructure aligned with the angle of the wall or secure the countertop itself to the wall using custom-made brackets. For inclined surfaces, the use of adjustable or pivoting brackets can help properly absorb forces and prevent tension. Avoid relying solely on point fixings on inclined surfaces, as this can cause problematic load distribution.

One more tip: Always use enough screws when fastening to prevent the panels from moving. This is especially important in critical areas under sloped ceilings.
