Hello everyone,

I want to install a 1.5m (5 feet) wide sliding door in front of a Pax cabinet that fits into a niche. Since the cabinet itself is only 1.5m (5 feet) wide, I plan to have the sliding door slide along the wall to the left of it.

For this, I need to mount the tracks on the wall. My initial idea was to attach appropriately sized timber beams to the wall and then fix the tracks onto them.

Has anyone done something similar before? I would greatly appreciate any ideas on how to approach this.

Is it sufficient to secure a large 1.5m (5 feet) wide Pax sliding door (with 3 glass panes and an aluminum frame) at three points (two on the wall at the bottom and top ends, and one at the bottom on the opposite side) to create a partition? Will it be stable enough, for example, if a child bumps into it?

As you can see, I’m trying to reuse as many parts as possible from a 3m (10 feet) wide Pax with sliding doors in the new apartment.

I’m very grateful for any suggestions, ideas, or tips.

Best regards from Berlin,
