Hello everyone, I have the following problem: My IKEA Malm dresser has developed an annoying squeaking noise in several drawers when closing. The noise mainly occurs when I slowly push the drawers back and the sliding rails along the sides glide. I have already cleaned the rails, but the squeaking remains. My suspicion is that it comes from the rollers or the sliding rails, and maybe they need lubrication or a minor repair. Does anyone have experience with this issue and possibly a step-by-step guide on how to fix it quietly without having to buy a new drawer or rail? Thanks in advance!

One more technical tip: Sometimes the cause of squeaking is not just on the sliding tracks, but in places where wood or metal lightly rub against each other, such as the attachment of the tracks to the dresser. In addition to checking the rollers and tracks, also inspect all screws to ensure they are tight. A loose screw can cause vibrations that create noise.
One last note: If you apply the silicone spray with a small brush, you can control the amount more precisely and prevent it from getting on other areas. This helps avoid stains on wooden surfaces.

Check not only the rollers and tracks but also make sure all screws are tightened securely Thanks, that really could be the cause. When I removed the drawer, I checked all the screws and indeed found one slightly loose.
Today, I applied silicone spray, let it dry briefly, and then opened and closed the drawer several times. It’s already much quieter!
I will repeat this process on the other drawers and carefully tighten all screws.
Thanks to everyone for the helpful tips!
Just as an addition: If the squeaking returns – and it will, sooner or later, with mass-produced items like Malm – simply repeat the procedure of cleaning and lubrication. Drawers are, after all, functional parts.
