Then you are exposed like on a serving platter
Privacy screens also cast shadows
Utility connections become more expensive

2. Parking space possibly between the house and the street

Build a covered area (carport) between the garage and the house, so the children have shelter from the rain when working on their bikes, etc. You can also use it to host your parties.
In front of it, there is also space for cars to park temporarily.

A vintage car is a good reason to have a garage. It’s also practical to keep it well separated from other (children’s) items.

I would prefer to have the private garden area as far away from the street as possible.

May I bring up the topic again? You have already given me a lot of valuable input.
I have thought it over once more and have come up with another possibility for how to orient the house: What do you think about this?
For some background: the existing houses in the row behind (blue at the top) are slightly rotated toward the south because their plots are shaped like skewed parallelograms rather than rectangles.
My new plot is rectangular – but somehow it seems that by “rotating” the house, a bit more garden space is created. The lower right corner of the house could be shifted further to the right, as there would still be space behind it for the entrance, so it wouldn’t have to be located in front of the garage (distance). It does look a bit unusual.
The blue house to the left does not exist yet, but in the worst case, this is how it would look.
What do you think about this compared to the previously shown vertical alignment parallel to the property boundary?

Thank you very much.

I think the idea is good. My brother lives in a residential area where the houses are arranged at an angle. This provides privacy in the garden.

However, I would now try to find a solution to place the entrance on the narrow side.
