Hello,

we have a 250cm (98 inches) PAX wall (50-50-100-50). I now want to equip the cabinets with lighting. A surface-mounted solution is not (easily) possible – ceiling height is about 245cm (96 inches); PAX height is 236cm (93 inches). There is basically no space on top of the cabinet for the "standard" cabinet lights from IKEA. So I thought about an internal solution. Clearly, the simplest option would be the "standard Komplement lights," especially for the 100cm (39 inches) cabinet. The 50cm (20 inches) cabinets each have many shelves, which block the light so that it remains dark further down.

I have already considered mounting the Komplement light bar on the door and shortening the shelves that hit it accordingly. I imagine this solution would provide good lighting but might seriously affect the appearance.

An alternative would be Ledberg / Dioder or LED strip lighting... but here I see the problem that when loading the individual shelves, the LED strip might get pulled off. And equipping every shelf with an LED strip...?

What other options are there?

I had a similar issue: ceiling height max. 2.50 m (8 ft 2 in), cabinets 2.36 m (7 ft 9 in). However, my Pax wardrobe is already 4 years old, when the magic wardrobe lights were still available. These can be extended in height and adjusted in tilt angle. Maybe that could be a solution for you? Try checking on eBay, there are probably some available.

Hello, you’ve probably already found a lighting solution, but I want to share that for the same room dimensions, we chose the Ikea Stockholm light fixture. Since screwing it on wasn’t possible due to limited space, we simply glued it on with mounting adhesive – however, we don’t plan to move again.
