Hello dear community, I am currently installing a Metod kitchen. Everything is quite doable so far, but I have a problem with one drawer (Maximera) behind a standard hinged door (40cm (16 inches) cabinet). The drawer can only be opened when the door is perfectly open at a 90-degree angle. If it is opened wider (125-degree hinges/fittings installed), the drawer hits the side edge of the door front. Would using a 95-degree hinge solve this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! It’s frustrating that Ikea didn’t tell me this (or include it with my kitchen order), so I have to go there again..

Yes, this is something everyone in the kitchen department should definitely know when it is clear that the inner drawer is behind a hinged door and not a pull-out front. By the way, different dampers are needed for the 153° hinges. Item number: 602.418.22

Dampers?

I don’t understand. I received bags labeled Utrusta 153°. So, an item. I installed them, and to me it looks correct. What exactly are they for? The website says "soft closing." Do they then close by themselves and I only need to give a little push?

You can always close the doors with a push, but they will slam quite loudly without a damper.
