Hello everyone,
I have a question about a corner wall cabinet, and I’m sure someone can help me.
More specifically, it’s about the door and the hinges. After assembling everything, I mounted the doors. Normally, this isn’t a problem: you screw the parts into the side panel, attach the hinges to the door, and then hang the door—no issues. What bothers me now is the gap between the door and the side panel, as if the door is sticking out about 0.5cm (0.2 inches), allowing you to see inside. That can’t be the intended design, and from what I’ve seen, it’s not possible to move the hinge further back.
I hope someone can assist me.
Thank you in advance for your effort and support.
Best regards,
Michael

There are special hinges for corner cabinets. As far as I know, these come with the corner cabinet. If they are the correct ones, then measure the distance from the front edge of the side panel to the holes. Are these distances the same at all points, meaning at the top and bottom, on the right side panel and the left side panel?
Let us know...

I installed the hinges that were originally included, which is correct—they look different from the "standard" ones. The distance from the side panel to the drill holes is the same for both side parts, top and bottom, measuring 30mm (1.2 inches).
With the screws and other small parts, there are also two small "rubber buffers" included, which are meant to be glued on as cushioning at the corners. If I place them in between, I get a gap of about 8mm (0.3 inches) between the door and the frame (body). The gap is then almost parallel. Would this mean that the door never closes properly?
Could it be that this is intended?

Maverick185411 Oct 2009 21:14The stickers are used to cushion the door so that it doesn’t slam shut. The door should fit tightly. If that’s not the case, something is wrong. The door should sit flush against the frame. Could you maybe upload a picture?

Maverick185411 Oct 2009 22:07Take a look at the gap between the two doors. It seems like it might be very tight when opening them. What happens if you open the other door? Will it work? Is it really that tight? I think it’s meant to be that way... It’s not ideal, but that’s how it is.

I can easily open the door next to it; nothing is in the way there.
Yes, Brootos, if a wall cabinet were to be installed next to it, it wouldn’t be so bad. I wouldn’t have a gap—only at the bottom—and that might still be acceptable. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. The hanging cabinet is the last one, then comes the window.
I don’t have side panels, and as far as I can see, none are planned according to the instructions.
I just checked the "carry-along overview," where all the part numbers for each cabinet are listed, but there is nothing there about side panels. However, directly on Ikea’s site, I found something like a side panel for a wall cabinet.
Later, I will check how it looks with a side panel that is 37cm wide (15 inches) next to it—maybe the gap won’t be visible anymore.
Well, now I have to go.
Have a nice day, everyone.
