Hello!

I bought the Hemnes shoe cabinet (item number: 201.695.59) yesterday. However, I’m having trouble with the assembly. The plastic storage compartments are supposed to be attached to the back of the doors by sliding them on and then screwing them in. Two sets of six screws are provided for this. Unfortunately, the screws don’t fit into the pre-drilled holes—they seem to be a few millimeters too short. Has anyone else experienced this, or am I just missing something?

Maybe someone can help.

Best regards,
Tobi

Hello,

did you use the screws with round heads? There are also shorter screws with countersunk heads included, but those are needed for the drawer slides.

I used the round-head screws as specified in the instructions. Regards

It is clear that the screws are not too short. If they go in completely and spin freely, the hole is too large or the screw is too thin.

Hello,

Your screws look like they require either no pre-drilled hole or only a very small one in the front panel. However, the holes seem to be large enough that you would need these screws instead:

Screw with thread and screw head as fastening element

These are the screws specified in the current Hemnes assembly instructions (available online) for attaching the front panel. Consider claiming a replacement or ordering through the online spare parts service.
