ratlos_36037 Dec 2010 18:04Hello,
it’s nice that there is a forum like this where you can possibly get answers to questions that IKEA cannot answer.
For example, the following:
We ordered a kitchen with a tall cabinet 233 cm (92 inches) high and a built-in oven (Nutid) to be installed centered in it.
There are two drawers below, which only fit if you remove the back panel!!!! and above, there is a 92 cm (36 inches) tall cabinet door.
Above the oven, a cover panel needs to be installed, which may have to be adjusted by trimming – I only learned this from the hotline.
The problem is not the cover panel, but the bottom shelf on which the oven rests. It is either too high or too low. Even when I use different shelf supports, I can never get the correct height.
Also, today the hotline told me: no, no, the cover panel goes below the oven, although this is nowhere stated in the instructions… I tried it that way but it didn’t work. When I called the hotline again, they told me again: no, no, the cover panel goes above the oven...
So has anyone ever installed the oven alone in the 233 cm (92 inches) tall cabinet with the cover panel either above or below the oven?
Thanks for your help,
Regards

Maverick18547 Dec 2010 18:50As far as I know, two options are possible, either at the top or the bottom, depending on the type of stove. The next step is, what does the stove manual say? Is anything mentioned there?

Maverick18547 Dec 2010 18:51...with a panel above or below the oven??Do you have an additional oven panel with a height of 9.4 cm (3.7 inches)? If so, it belongs there...
Two drawers at the bottom only fit if you remove the back panel!!!! The drawers are designed to be used at full depth. However, in the 233cm (92 inch) tall appliance cabinet, the back panel is set further inward to allow air circulation behind the oven or refrigerator. Therefore, you have to remove the back panel if you want to use full-extension drawers instead of a regular door.
There should be a panel above the oven that may need to be trimmed; I only found that out from the customer service. That’s not a problem, but have the cut done at a hardware store. Almost any hardware store will do this quick job for a small tip or even free. I wouldn’t cut it myself. The front panel also comes with an edge banding strip, which can be applied to the cut edge by heating it with an iron—it’s self-adhesive. This solution is necessary because appliances installed in the oven cabinet (microwaves, built-in espresso machines, possibly a warming drawer) have different heights depending on the manufacturer.
The problem is not the panel, but the lower shelf on which the oven stands. It’s either too high or too low. Even when I use different "shelf supports," I never get the right height. That problem should be the easiest to solve! Firstly, you can use different supports on the upper and lower shelf to get the correct niche height. Secondly, in the installation manual for my IKEA oven (it was a Framtid, not a Nutid), it clearly specified which hole from the bottom to use and which support to mount the shelves with. Even if the manual is missing or inaccurate (which I find unlikely), you can always drill new holes yourself in the right height with a 5mm (0.2 inch) wood drill bit to position the supports correctly.
Also, today the customer service told me: no, no, the panel goes under the oven, although that’s not stated anywhere in the manuals... I tried it but it didn’t work, and when I called the hotline again they said the panel goes over the oven... If you install an oven and a microwave, the panel definitely goes OVER the oven. I also have the 233cm (92 inch) cabinet with two drawers at the bottom, then the oven, microwave above it, about 9cm (3.5 inch) panel above that, and then a door on top. In my opinion, it should also be possible to solve it the other way around, with the panel below the appliances.
