Hello everyone,
I bought a Pax wardrobe with hinged doors over the weekend. I planned it online, picked it up at the store, and started assembling it. Once the carcasses were in place and I began installing the interior fittings and doors, I unfortunately noticed a conflict between the Komplement divider with its four Komplement drawers and the door hinge. In other words, there is so little clearance between them that the bottom drawer rubs against the hinge. Has anyone experienced a similar situation and can offer advice?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards

IKEA-Experte29 Apr 2014 14:09I would go to IKEA with a printout from the planner and a photo of the issue and request a return. If the planner has misrepresented something, in my opinion, that is a consulting error.
Trick to make a drawer fit despite the hinges.
IKEA offered to take back fully assembled drawers because the drawers rub against the hinges.
Here’s how it can still work:
1. Turn the adjustment screw on the hinge fully to the stop, so the hinge takes up as little space as possible. This shifts the door sideways by about 2mm (0.08 inches).
2. File down the protruding adjustment screw. You can still turn it afterward.
3. For some drawers, I had to convert two drill holes into elongated slots to improve sliding (relieving tension between the guide rails). These are the holes where the drawer hooks into the guide rail.
Specifically, on the side without the hinge, one at the front and one at the back.
This also causes a slight sideways shift of the drawer.

Elly_284315 Nov 2014 17:48I am currently facing the same problem. I ordered 2 x 100cm (39 inches) Pax wardrobes, each with 3 drawers with glass inserts for the bottom.
When designing with the Pax planner, there were no issues with this combination. It was accepted without any problems.
First, I installed all the drawers. They worked perfectly. Then I removed the drawers and installed the first door. When I wanted to put the drawers back in to check if I needed to adjust the door hinges, the bottom drawer suddenly became difficult to move. A closer look revealed the problem: the hinge screw, even when fully screwed in, was scraping against the side of the drawer. The result: about 30cm (12 inches) of the drawer’s laminate has already been scratched off on one side.
Sanding down the edge, as has been suggested here, doesn’t make sense in my case because for a 100cm (39 inches) wardrobe, there is also a door with a hinge on the other side.
I will try to get the defective drawer replaced.
EDIT:
I just tried to rebuild “my” wardrobe again on the Ikea site using the Pax planner. NOW it no longer works. Apparently, too many customers have reported this problem. It’s still frustrating for me because if I had known this, I would definitely have planned differently and chosen other components...
