Hello
Since we don’t have a car, we had the Expedit TV wall unit delivered on Friday.
Today we wanted to assemble it.
But after a short time, the first dowel wouldn’t go in anymore. Pressing on it caused the dowel to break off.
We then carefully removed it and decided to use only 3 dowels instead of 4 because the last hole wouldn’t fit a dowel at all.
So we continued, and suddenly the next dowel didn’t fit either. It wouldn’t slide into the hole.
Of course, it’s Sunday today and you can’t reach IKEA.
Either the holes are poorly drilled or the dowels are too thick… or both.
What can be done? Will IKEA take back this faulty item? Will we get a replacement? Does someone come to assemble it?
Thanks for your help

Have you made sure that two different sized dowels need to be used for this piece of furniture and that the correct ones are used?
If not, pack everything up and return it; you will get a new one.

Hello
Yes, there are both "long" and "short" ones.
We paid attention to that as well. It just seems to us that they all have different thicknesses.
And simply packing them up and driving there is not an option since we don’t have a car. That’s why we specifically paid for the delivery service 😕
I’ll call tomorrow to see if we can get a few more dowels. We’ve also broken two.
Such a nuisance
