Good evening,

A few days ago, I bought the Besta Boas TV unit and discovered during assembly that the TV mount is not included. According to the instructions, it should be the Uppleva Ormo, but this is no longer available at IKEA! In the store, the staff recommended this mount:

However, the staff member was not completely sure, and the instructions clearly apply to a different Besta model, not the Boas. Now I am worried: Does this mount really fit the Boas? After all, the TV would then hang only on the particleboard back panel of the Besta Boas!

I would also have some concerns and would rather go with this:

Hello IKEA expert,

the instruction manual you posted is for the wrong Besta.
I have this one:

And actually, the UPPLEVA ORMO is supposed to go in there.

That was already clear to me. However, the "wrong" Besta also has a particleboard panel where the new bracket is attached, demonstrating how it should be done. I did not examine to what extent the braces behind the particleboard contribute to stability.

I have now acquired the UPPLEVA ORMO through a classifieds site, as all other options seemed uncertain to me.

I find it quite... suboptimal of Ikea not to offer the matching part for this piece of furniture anymore – or at least not to indicate which bracket is the correct one now.
