I’m personally interested in whether you have furnished your new house with Ikea furniture, and if so, where. It doesn’t matter if the furniture is new or brought from elsewhere. Please check all applicable answers.
If you like, you can also mention whether you mainly chose case furniture or upholstered pieces.

Utility room - Kallax shelving units
Bathroom - Lillangen tall cabinet
Bedroom - Pax wardrobes and Malm dressers
Living room: Besta units + Sörvallen sofa
We already own the furniture. It’s less than two years old, so of course it’s coming with us.

Not long ago, I would have also voted no.
For me, it all started with IKEA hacks for toddlers. The learning tower and then a children's kitchen made from Kallax. And yes, Kallax is really great for the price.
The padded chairs have removable covers that can be washed in the washing machine.
The Pax wardrobe fits perfectly in the bedroom.
The Ivar fits well under the stairs.
What I like about IKEA is the value for money, and no matter where you pay, the price is always the same. What bothered me about furniture stores was the varying prices and discounts. It felt almost like an Arabian bazaar.

I like Ikea because the price-performance ratio fitsI agree. Gordmorgon is reliable. I can’t think of anything that could easily break there.
Malm is affordable and serves its purpose well.
With Kallax, Besta, and Ivar, you can get creative and put together custom furniture. Whether for niches or sloped ceilings... they also work well together.

Now everyone wants to know: where did Steffen, for example, shop?Steffen has some custom-made pieces. I do like built-in cabinets, but having them everywhere feels too finished for me. Eventually, I get bored and need a change. Ikea works well for that. See above.
Soon I will expand our Nolte kitchen with Besta. I need a half-height cabinet 60cm (24 inches) wide... For that, I’ll add a high-gloss white highlight next to a Besta wood finish... On the opposite wall, I’ll add a wall cabinet with the same look to repeat the design... it will cost about one-eighth of what I would pay at a kitchen showroom. The refrigerator has already been relocated, and space has been cleared.

My sister (ground floor) and her daughter (upper floor) have recently redecorated. My sister works at a furniture store and is quite knowledgeable. Still, neither of them follows every trend. They don’t have any built-in wardrobes at all—they just buy the furniture they like best and then wallpaper around it. I think it’s really great. I should take some photos next time.Similar topics
