Hello everyone,

I am currently considering purchasing some furniture from the IKEA Brimnes series, as it is quite popular due to its storage capacity. However, I have not been able to find precise, detailed information about the exact storage volume of the individual pieces – for example, in liters or cubic meters. My question is: How much storage space do IKEA Brimnes furniture items actually offer?

I am especially interested in the storage volume of wardrobes, beds with storage boxes, and dressers from the series. If anyone has exact measurements, volume data, or practical experience, I would be very grateful. Information about how much of the storage space can actually be used effectively for clothes, bedding, or other items would also be very helpful.

I look forward to your replies!

I would like to add that with the Brimnes series, stability and internal layout also play important roles. The thickness of the furniture and the drawer slides affect the usable interior space, especially in a series like Brimnes that focuses on good value for money.

It is also interesting that this series is often modular. This allows you to purchase or replace individual drawers in pieces like the chest of drawers if you need more specialized storage.

So, if you want to know exactly how much storage space is available, you should measure the dimensions of each compartment in addition to the volume specifications and check whether storage boxes or plastic containers fit well inside.

From an analytical perspective, it is worthwhile to distinguish between the theoretical volume specifications and practical usability.

Thank you for this insight; it matches my thoughts quite well. For me, it’s not just about the pure numbers but also about how practical the storage space is to use—especially with bulky bedding or volume-heavy items like thick winter sweaters.

If you want to optimize the storage space in the Brimnes furniture, it is advisable to measure the internal dimensions of each drawer and compartment precisely and possibly tailor storage boxes accordingly.

That sounds very helpful; I will definitely incorporate that into my planning. It’s certainly better to adjust furniture later with suitable storage solutions than to rely only on the rough external dimensions.

Does anyone else have experience whether Brimnes is sufficient for people with a relatively large wardrobe, or should one consider a different series?
