Hello everyone, I am currently planning to completely furnish my apartment and have taken a special interest in the IKEA Brimnes series because it is affordable and offers plenty of storage options. Since I only have a small apartment of about 35 square meters (377 square feet), I would like to understand how to use the Brimnes furniture most effectively without overcrowding or making the space impractical. I am especially interested in the flexible use of the dressers and beds, some of which come with built-in storage. Are there any experiences on how to efficiently combine these pieces to maximize storage while maintaining an open and functional living atmosphere? I would also appreciate tips on how to save space smartly with the Brimnes wardrobe or TV unit. Thanks in advance!

The Brimnes furniture offers plenty of built-in storage. For example, use the bed with drawers to store bedding and clothing. Place the chest of drawers against a wall that would otherwise remain unused, and avoid extra sideboards.

To make the most of Brimnes furniture in small apartments, I recommend the following approach: The first step is a detailed room analysis – create a sketch with measurements, especially noting door and window locations. For example, the Brimnes chest of drawers fits well on narrow wall spaces without disrupting traffic flow. The daybed with drawers is multifunctional and often replaces both a seating area and a bed. An important tip: Be sure to use the full depth of the chests by using boxes or organizers, which helps avoid the clutter that often occurs with open compartments. One of your quotes hits the mark: "I am particularly interested in the flexible use of the chests and beds, which are sometimes equipped with storage." This is exactly where the key lies – multifunctional furniture combines comfort with organization. Have you considered whether a loft bed with a Brimnes desk underneath could be an option? This would save you a lot of space.

Exactly, in my opinion, that is the best way to use space efficiently.

I would add that for small apartments with Brimnes furniture, it is especially important to clearly zone the space. Your idea to place the dresser or wardrobe in less frequently used corners is correct, but combining this with mirrors can also help visually enlarge the room. Use light colors for additional pieces and keep decoration minimal. It is also practical to store seasonal items in the under-bed storage to create extra capacity. For the TV stand, I recommend neatly bundling and hiding cables to avoid a cluttered appearance.

Thanks for the suggestion, a loft bed would definitely be interesting, but as far as I can see, it is not available in the Brimnes series. My focus is more on the dressers, the wardrobe, the bed with drawers, and the TV stand. Basically, I am looking for ways to combine these modules in a way that maintains an open room atmosphere while still providing plenty of storage. Are there any recommendations on how to place, for example, dresser and TV stand side by side or opposite each other in a studio apartment without disrupting the sense of space?
